Weathers still cold...

...and threatening snow, at the same time it is sunny today. Walking into town in a mo. so will finish this later.

Well did town and back in 40 minutes or so, can't tell exact mileage because my HTC struggles to find a GPS signal....

Saturday we are going to Chippenham to get Dan's boots back and have lunch, Sunday to Tashies for tea, so hope we don't get snowed in in Basingstoke!

Pic above comes from Sump Publishing, and on-line classic bike mag, it's pretty good. Try www.sump-publishing.co.uk.

Bought the following to get my Enfield going again: exhaust valve, head gasket, rocker gaskets x 2, head bolt washers, valve guide. Hope to get it going soon, Yamaha is un-usable due to MOT running out, too cold to take it...

Best of luck with the weather!

Snowed a tiny bit today..

..just a smidgen, covered the car and the grass but the roads are clear.

Highlight of the weekend was radio, after that had an awful time, just couldn't get on. Tried some DIY on Sunday, fences and taps, boy was it cold out.

Yamaha's due it's MOT on Thursday, depending on the weather outlook, might just leave it...

No movement on the Enfield either, need to buy the parts....

Bye.

Well........

....what can I say....

My blog has missed all of December, all of Christmas and the New Year and nearly all of January! Should I try and update it, or give up, that's a good topic for discussion...

Took the head off the Bullet a week or two ago, after a trip up to Salisbury Plain. The compression is about half what it should be, Doug reckons the exhaust valve is knackered. Need a new valve and valve guide minimum.

Yamaha would not start at work last night, flat battery. Wa rescued by a jump start from Phil at work, thank you very much. It needs an MOT on Feb 2nd, will it pass?

Just been in to town and back on foot with Andy, 4.28KM/2.65 miles in 43 minutes, approx. 3.7 mph. Trying to decide if I do some, all or none of the Saresen Trail this year...

Anyway, better go, to write more blogs or not, that I the question......

Monday 21 November 2011

Been away for a few days...

...to Manchester, for a visit to a small Broadcast exhibition. Lot's of miles, the sat nav said 222 when we set off to come home, and that was to Frimley!

Did Radio Saturday morning, then Christmas shopping in Basingstoke, that's it, not doing it again.....

Managed to get to wash the car off following our visit to the farm to get the RRRR trailer, not looking forward to going out there again in December. Might get the trailer out in the morning and put it back the following day, at least then I can see what I am doing.

Spent a little while on the Enfields gearbox/kick start problem, found that the spring was stuck in the hole, not lost in the gearbox. Nearly got it back together when I ran out of time.

Brought the Yamaha to work this morning, it feels a little rough, needs some TLC. We may be going to the NEC next Saturday, for the bike show live, me and Dan, Charles and Andy. Should be fun...

See you soon....

Remembrance for 2011

Went down to Ludgershall for the Remembrance Day ceremony, it was OK, just OK........

Saturday spent all day teaching Day In Radio, it was good, bit busy trying to edit the interviews and get them ready to go on air! Well done to the students, including Dan.

Talking of Dan he had an interview today, British Heart Foundation, as a stores type labourer. Will see what comes of it.

Andy and I are off on a work trip up North later this week, should be fun. Expect to be back Friday night, probably quiet late.....might make radio on Saturday, will have to see.

Pic is of the latest incarnation of the Classic Chrome Enfield, very nice...

Enfields still not fixed, my fault, got back from the garden centre yesterday afternoon with plenty of time to do it, but fell asleep with a funny headache instead. Brought Yamaha in this morning, saw six other bikes, at one point was in convey with two of them, three of the others were learners and an instructor.

VERY dark and VERY cold and misty now, will be fun on the way home......

Wednesday 9 November 2011

Well hallo...

...sorry about that, started to blog again and then stopped...

Perhaps it's because we have been pretty busy, not sure where to go back to.....well we went to Natasha's Foxy Me launch two weeks ago, it was busy with girls giving out ballons and stuff, hopefully the business will get going between now and Christmas.

Go to www.foxyme.co.uk to book treatments at Foxy Me.

Julie went to the NEC to a craft show last Saturday, the day before we spent in Southampton, meeting Pat and Bill with Julie's mum, and Dan came to.

Been pretty busy (too busy!) with radio, lot's going on, another meeting tonight. Will be doing Day In Radio course this Saturday, and will go down to the memorial in Ludgershall on Sunday.

Enfield is still not mobile, need to fix the kickstart, have the bits but not made the time to do it.

Quiet like the look of the RE above, it started out all black with full seat, just like mine.

By for now..

Theft of Vivi Mallock war memorial statue from Tidworth

This statue has been stolen by thieves in the early hours of Monday morning, the 17th October, from the war memorial at Pennings Road in Tidworth. The offenders, thought to have arrived in a white vehicle, removed the Vivi Mallock statue between 2.40am and 3.19am.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for anyone with information regarding the theft or its whereabouts to contact Acting Sergeant Andy Willcox on 101.

This theft feels quiet personal to me, we (1st Tidworth Scouts) attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies that were held around this statue, and I remember actually being involved with cleaning it a few times. So if anyone has any info at all please contact Wiltshire Police.

Thank you.
